Weight and thickness are left out of the table because each maker publishes them differently. What is confirmed: the Galaxy Z Fold8 is 53g lighter than the iPhone Duo and thinner both folded and unfolded, and the Xiaomi 18 Fold measures 5.02mm unfolded, 10.68mm folded, and weighs 219g.
Decide what matters most
- Water resistance and a local launch: iPhone Duo. It carries IP68, and Korea is in the first launch wave. In Korea the 256GB model costs ₩3.29 million, well above a straight conversion of the $1,999 US price.
- Weight and price: Galaxy Z Fold8. It is 53g lighter and $100 cheaper in the US, with a lower IP48 rating.
- Battery: on paper, the Xiaomi 18 Fold’s 6000mAh is the largest here, but it has launched only in China, and a global release is TBC.
- Spending less: the previous-generation Galaxy Z Fold7 is still on sale; its current street price is TBC on this page.
